Granting Leila de Lima bail is ‘step towards justice’

Sutton Coldfield Amnesty International Group welcomed the news in December 2023 that former Philippines Senator Leila de Lima had been granted bail for the third and last drug-related charge against her, having been detained since February 2017.

Amnesty International and many other organisations have repeatedly said that the charges against her were fabricated and that the testimonies by witnesses against her were manufactured.

Amnesty International continue to state that the last remaining drug-related charge should be dismissed and that those behind her arbitrary detention and other violations of her human rights be brought to justice.
