We have a very funny history. By which I mean we have a history of being involved in very funny comedy, from the Secret Policeman’s Ball to the Edinburgh Festival.

We don’t do it just to promote our brand or raise money. Comedy, free speech and freedom of expression go to the heart of what we are all about.

Secret Santa Comedy Podcast: Our Secret Comedy Podcast returns with four special episodes to celebrate Christmas. Listen now

Secret Policeman’s Ball 2012 - DVD out now
The Secret Policeman's Ball is a night of comedy with the aim of raising awareness of issues of free speech and raising funds for our ongoing work to protect human rights around the world.

As long as it's not undermining someone else's rights, everyone should be able to say what they want without fear of persecution. That's what the Secret Policeman's Ball celebrates.

In this clip from this year’s Ball Liam Neeson introduces Burmese comedian Zarganar who was put in jail in 2008 for criticising Burma's govenment.
